48 Hour Contest a Blast! |
Dawson Student Films entered a 48 Hour Competition which was held June 18th-20th for Atlanta. We are competing against 71 other teams in Atlanta and it was a great experience. The concept is that we had only 48 hours to complete a 4-7 minute film from start to finish. It started at 7PM friday where we randomly drew our genre (Drama) and received the elements that were required in the film: A principal named David Landeryou, Keys, and a line of dialogue "Let me know what you think". It was a great weekend and we had friends, family, and the community come together to help make it a success. We turned our film in with only 30 minutes to spare on Sunday evening. A number of us went to our screening and we got to see 12 other films done by other teams. I really think we have a shot at it! We'll keep you up to date as we hear how the judging goes! In the meantime, you can watch our film here!

DSF About Us |
Dawson Student Films is an organization that works with students in a variety of environments creating videos and short films. We currently have clubs in Dawson County middle and high schools, summer camps, an open community club, and we also work with teachers on specific class in school projects.
The intention of Dawson Student Films is to create a positive environment for students to express creativity, learn project management and planning skills, get involved in their local and school community, learn to function as an effective team, build personal character, and develop leadership skills. We do this through a process of filmmaking that includes a variety of types, including in school promotions, educational character development films, creative short films, public service announcements, and potentially a full length feature film. Students are given opportunities to function in a multitude of roles such as director, script writing, production assistant, camera operations and many more.
